Heritage Orchard

In 2009 we planted over thirty trees in our Heritage Orchard.  The trees are all old Devon and West Country varieties, suited to the local soil and weather conditions.

They vary in flavour, shape, size and colour and have many uses.

In the years to come we should enjoy a bountiful harvest.  Along with the apples from our small orchard, some we planted in 2007 and some which have been here for many years, the heritage apples will go into apple juice, cider, cider vinegar, chutneys and jams.  Any surplus will supplement the diet of the pigs and goats.

A well-stocked kitchen garden means that we are self-sufficient in vegetables and fruit.
